Thanks for visiting!

Hi! This is Kathy, she was a  25 year old who lived in the beautiful state of Oregon. She was newly married, loved fashion and music, and had a very exciting job working in the wedding and event industry. Kathy was diagnosed with uterine/cervical cancer in November 2011, It was Kathy's goal during her battle with cancer to inspire others through her writing.

This was Kathy showing us that her hair was growing back after her first round of treatments.Kathy lost her battle to her cancer on October 8, 2012.  This foundation was created in Kathy's honor and to help keep her goal of motivating, educating and providing others like her a place to go to gain strength and support.  It is the intention of this foundation to raise money in Kathy's name to help support the education, prevention and battle for Uterine/cervical cancer.

You can read Kathy's blog that she started when she was diagnosed to get a small glimpse of how wonderful of a person Kathy was. She also had a Facebook and a cancer page you can view.

Cervical cancer occurs when abnormal cells on the cervix grow out of control. The cervix is the lower part of the uterus that opens into the vagina. Cervical cancer can often be cured when it’s found early. It is usually found at a very early stage through a Pap test.  Providence Gynecologic Oncology Program focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and management of female reproductive cancers.

Providence offers care for women who cannot afford it through the Oregon Breast and Cervical Cancer Program. This program helps low-income, uninsured and medically underserved women gain access to lifesaving screening programs for early detection of breast and cervical cancers. Each year, approximately 7,000 eligible women receive screening services.

Funding for this program is provided by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
